HOU- Have you ever been stuck on how to start writing a letter? Well, I have some tips for you.

Step 1: Who is the person?

First, you want to start with your subject. Who is the subject of this letter? Depending on the person, also depends on the tone of the letter. If you are writing to your lover, it will most likely have a more meaningful tone of love. It just depends on who you are writing a letter to. Also, get the persons address, so you can send the letter to them, or you can hand it to them personally. Either way is fine!

This is a notebook and pens.

Step 2: Plan, Plan and Plan!

After you have found your subject. Think of what you are planning on telling them. Exciting news or just catching up. Has it been years since you talked to this person, or has it been days? Every little detail counts. Make sure to have a solid idea of what you want to tell them. It's okay to change ideas, while writing the letter. Letters aren't meant to be strict.

Step 3: Don't think too hard.

Next, don't think too much into it! Don't think too hard. The letter can be as simple as a hello and explaining how your day went. Letters aren't meant to be in APA style or in very long essay format! Letters are meant to be easy and "fun", just depending on what you want to write. Letters don't follow the regular essay formats; Letters are a free for all. Go crazy, but not too crazy!

Step 4: Final Elements.

Finally, the final touches of a letter. Don't forget your end signing in the letter and date of when you wrote the letter. Another thing you can add is a picture or something that they can remember you by. I highly recommend something you are passionate about. It gives the letter more meaning.

I hope these tips were helpful for you. Remember to not think so hard on writing a letter. Writing letters aren't meant to be hard. Maybe try writing a letter now. This could be a fun activity to do while you are at home. Write a letter and save them until you can give them to your loved ones.

"How wonderful it is to be able to write someone a letter! To feel like conveying your thoughts to a person, to sit at your desk and pick up a pen, to put your thoughts into words like this is truly marvelous."― Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood
